NSW Medical Student Council (NSW MSC) |
|
The NSW MSC was formed in November 2006 in an effort to
• To represent the views of all medical students in NSW
• Promote the co-operation of all medical schools in NSW to maintain optimal medical education
• Promote and address issues pertinent to NSW medical students
• Protect the well-being of medical students in NSW
NSW MSC events for 2008 will include a welcome cocktail night, an academic event set to highlight medico-political student issues and the inter-university sports day where the strongly contested “university cup” will be decided for the year. MSC also runs quarterly meetings which are open to every NSW medical student to provide a platform for awareness of specific university and student concerns and identify potential issues specific to NSW medical students
The NSW MSC will achieve these aims by:
• Fostering and sustaining co-operation and communication among the medical schools in NSW
• Acting as a lobbying group for medical students to the NSW government and NSW-specific bodies
• Fostering unity among medical students by providing a forum for their opinions
• Fostering communication between the medical students and the community
The MSC welcomes every medical student in NSW to participate in one or many of the events and meetings held each year. For further information please contact Kathryn Glasson kathryn.glasson@studentmail.newcastle.edu.au or Koliarne Tong kols.tong@gmail.com or check out the NSW MSC Facebook page that is open to all NSW Med Students to join.
