Planning is now under way for the 2009 Medical Careers Exhibition.
Our 2008 Careers Exhibition was a huge success with almost 400 visitors and 37 exhibitors. The event has grown significantly since starting with 18 exhibitors in 2006. This year also included presentations on key issues for registrars, such as interview techniques and life as a medical student and intern.
For the first time the exhibition was open to Year 12 students who are interested in studying medicine. The Unviersity of Sydney and The University of Western Sydney booths proved popular with the high schoolers and their parents.
The exhibition’s massive growth meant a move to Randwick Racecourse which was the perfect location for the large numbers of registrants eager to talk with exhibitors. Given the ample space and easy parking, the racecourse will continue to host the event for years to come.
A special thank you to Dr Andrew Zuschmann, Dr Florian Honeyball, Cecille Heath and Chantelle Berenger who entertained the session delegates with their fantastic presentations.
AMA (NSW) would like to acknowledge and thank NSW Health for their continued support of this essential event.
