The AMA (NSW) medico-legal department deals with most legal enquiries including those relating to privacy, medical records and subpoenas. However, for more complex matters members may subsequently be referred to Tress Cox; our affiliated legal firm. Members are entitled to a free 20 minute telephone conference or a 1 hour free face to face consultation (depending on the nature of the enquiry) with Tress Cox lawyers as part of their membership. Members should note that the scheme can only be accessed through telephoning AMA (NSW) in the first instance.
