Council of General Practice

The AMA (NSW) Council of General Practice is the medico-political voice of GP members of AMA in NSW.

The Council considers issues pertaining to general practice and then reports to whichever Standing Committee of AMA (NSW) is appropriate. The Council also assists in the formulation of AMA (NSW) policy relating to general practice.

Two members of the AMA (NSW) Council of General Practice sit on the Federal AMA Council of General Practice, which defends the interests of GPs nationwide.

Dr Robyn Napier is Chairman of the AMA (NSW) Council of General Practice and is also AMA (NSW) Medical Secretary and Medical Director. An election is held each year for the Council Executive.
