The Doctors in Training Committee (DITC) is a reporting committee of AMA (NSW) that meets regularly to discuss issues that concern doctors-in-training.
The committee is chaired by AMA (NSW) Councillor representing DITs, Dr Katherine Jeffrey, and canvasses important topics such as the current increases in medical student numbers and the AMA's Safe Hours Campaign
The committee's discussions are reported back to the 29-member AMA (NSW) Council which, in consultation with the wider AMA membership, formulates state policy.
All medical students and doctors in training are represented by nominees from hospitals, universities and other external groups.
If you would like to get involved and have your say in AMA DIT policy direction at a state level, please contact Alicia Speer at AMA (NSW).

AMA Council of Doctors in Training
Federally, the AMA Council of Doctors in Training (CDT) consists of DIT representatives from each AMA branch, the federal Doctors in Training Councillor and a member of AMA Council.
The CDT meets face-to-face every three months and holds teleconferences as necessary at other times. The CDT serves as the national coordinating group for AMA members who are doctors in training. It is designed to facilitate the exchange of information between states and to gather national support for the resolution of issues.
